AKRON GETS GROWING
From today's Beacon Journal:
"Vacant lots around Akron are being turned into
community gardens under a new program designed to encourage people to
grow their own food.
The
program, Akron Grows, is a partnership involving the city, the Akron
Cooperative (formerly the Cooperative Market) and the Ohio State
University Extension. That partnership plans to convert eight
city-owned lots into 100 to 150 gardening plots, which will be made
available to gardeners chosen by application."
What a great use of vacant lots around Akron! Buying local and going Green!
