Real Estate Sales in Akron
From Saturday's Beacon Journal:
"Home
sales in the Greater Akron area rose in September, the first increase
in monthly sales figures since August 2007, according to information
from the Akron Area Board of Realtors.
There were 446 homes sold in September, up 25.3 percent from a year ago when 356 homes were sold.
Total
value of the homes was $54.8 million, with the average price at
$122,870. The average price for homes sold a year ago was $136,086.
The
monthly average price per home varies wildly. For instance, in January
the average price was $128,799 and was $116,815 in February; average
prices were above $150,000 in May and June.
The
homes that sold in September were on the market an average of 91 days
compared to 79 days for homes sold in August and 79 days for homes sold
in September 2007."
The
economy is tough right now for everyone.....it looks like the Akron area
is ‘doin fine'. While the national news are very grim to say the least,
our area is showing signs of growth.
We have a beautiful week ahead...plenty of sunshine...and lots of color enjoy it!
