Moving Day in Downtown Akron
This morning Exchange Street is closed Bowery and High streets....so
are Main and Water! They are moving the oldest residential structure
in downtown Akron.....not an easy venture as it weighs 400 tons! It is
the
Richard Howe House...he was the resident engineer for the canal that went through Akron. Built during the Presidency of
Andrew Jackson, it will become the new home to the
Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition.
If you would like to see the move, 10 am is the time to be
downtown....send me any pictures you get! Sadly I have to miss it.
