Do You Live In A Neighborhood?
Do you live in a neighborhood? I do....and I have to tell you: When
my children were younger, biking and running around, I knew everyone!
Now I hardly know anyone who lives near by! What has happened to us? I
just read an article in the New York Times that goes to the heart of it!
We
recently inherited a dog, tiny thing, that I deliberately let run with
my phone number attached. When a neighbor calls with my dog I am able
to meet them. Of course I thank them profusely and even give them
cookies or fresh bread. It is probably better than knocking on doors
asking for a sleep over! ( that is what the author of the article did
)
